HI! I'M SARAH
But my close friends call me Sar...and I wear stuff.
I'm a forty-ish mom of three, born and raised in San Francisco, and am the primary caretaker in our family. In my past life, I was an elementary school teacher, a food allergy blogger, the creative backbone to my husband's real estate company, school auction organizer, and home staging small business owner. I continue to dabble in interior design & branding (which I continue to do as a side hustle).
I've explored my personal style for as long as I can remember, discovering early on a fondness for mixing modern staples with vintage & thrifted finds. This meant I was a bit of an anomaly in middle school and beyond. Didn't everyone wear jodhpurs and lace up knee high boots at university? No? OK.
In my recent past, I rarely bought anything full price, and loved myself a good bargain on quality pieces. Starting in September 2019, I replaced buying new with almost exclusively thrifting or buying secondhand, and have supplemented those pieces with my existing wardrobe.
I'm particularly interested in balancing masculine and feminine in styling, and I strive to incorporate at least one unexpected element to every outfit, particularly pertaining to color, texture, silhouette or accessorizing.
I am a huge fan of vintage for unique and quality construction, details, fabrics, and prints, and mostly find pieces readily available at San Francisco thrift shops. I am a neutral wearing girl at heart, but I'm not afraid to experiment with a fresh color story or classic print. My uniform is a jeans, tee, & sneakers base with layers for our variable weather that changes hourly. I love a little black dress or a one-of-a-kind vintage stunner for playing dress up.
My fashion sense continues to evolve as I embrace my 40's, and I aspire to streamline my closet by remixing and tailoring existing clothing, utilizing accessories, buying thoughtfully, and wearing often.
But the struggle is real. And the journey is messy. So here I am, in all my imperfect glory.
love,
