Summer Heat + the Little Black Wrap Dress

When the San Francisco sun finally breaks through the fog--like over these past four amazing and well, sweltering days--and I want a simple, chic look, I grab this little black dress. Yes, black.

When I go to my closet to reach for a sundress, I notice that most of my dresses are black or navy--not your typical sundress. We don't typically see this kind of weather, and there's not much need for your traditional sundresses. I've got to be able to wear my dresses throughout the year, which means versatility.

On our girls' trip to NYC, I packed my black wrap dress. It's such a must-have in my suitcase now. The wrap dress is super flattering with its cinched waist and easy fit. Oh the layering options!

This Madewell Gauze Wrap Dress kept me cool and comfy as we explored Tribeca. The gauze fabric has this breezy drape I love.

Madewell Gauze Wrap Dress retail $138
